How do you bring a country’s export potential to life in 30 seconds?
Behind every “Made in” label are businesses, technologies, people and a culture of craftsmanship. Film helps turn these strengths into a story that international audiences can understand, remember and trust.
At Dars Films, we have curated Made in Export Promo — a YouTube playlist of 15 films from different countries, produced by our studio and other creative teams.
Our selection explores different ways to build a national export brand: through people and expertise, innovation and industrial capability, culture and product origins.
A strong national export brand gives businesses a shared reputation to draw on when competing abroad. But its success depends on what happens in the overseas markets where export growth is expected. Domestic recognition alone cannot deliver that ambition.
Export branding also belongs to a wider national brand. Together with investment, tourism, culture and sport, it helps shape how the world sees a country — and why people choose to buy from it, invest in it or visit it.
These 15 films offer different perspectives on how visual storytelling can make a country’s capabilities more visible and its exporters more competitive.
When you see “Made in” on a product, what does the country’s name bring to mind — quality, innovation, craftsmanship, authenticity? And where did those associations come from: personal experience, the reputation of its brands, or the stories that country tells about itself?
Our playlist explores how film can help build those associations. We’d love to hear which examples resonate with you — and why.
Which country has turned its “Made in” label into a reason for you to choose its products? What earned that trust, and what could other countries learn from it?
If you work in export promotion, branding or international trade, please share your perspective: which stories about your country connect most strongly with buyers abroad?
